Thank you for considering to adopt a rescue cat or kitten. We promise, it is one of the best decision you'll ever make. It is a big step - for you and for our cats.
Matching the right cat to the right people is key to delivering our mission - of giving our cats a happy furever after.
Being a cat owner is a rewarding experience. Cats can have specific needs, and they lots of care and affection from their people. Before you continue, please ensure you have thought carefully about what cat ownership entails and if you're up for the challenge.
Furever After's Adoption Application process is there to ensure that our cats go to the people who can give them the care, attention, and affection that they require.

All our cats come microchipped, desexed, minimum first vaccination (depending on age), flea-treated, wormed and with a free NSW Lifetime Registration.
The Adoption Application Process
At Furever After Rescue Incorporated, our mission is to find Furever Loving Homes for every pet we rescue. We ensure a perfect match by placing our cats in suitable indoor environments, either strictly indoors or with secure outdoor enclosures (all areas must be enclosed). This protects both your cat, and the local wildlife.

Phone interview
A casual phone conversation to talk about your expectations and answer any questions you may have.
House inspection (via video or in-person)
This assures us, and our supporters, that the homes we find for our cats are safe and comfortable.
Adoption fee
The fee, indicated in the respective cat's profile, helps cover the costs of veterinary care for our rescued animals.
Two-week trial period
A trial period give both you and the cat time to adjust and bond before finalising the adoption.
As of July 2021, the adoption of desexed animals from a registered rehoming organization like Furever After Rescue Incorporated means you'll receive free lifetime registration for your new pet. Furever After Rescue Incorporated is a designated registered pet rescue organization with the Office of Local Government, complying with section 88B of the Companion Animals Act 1998.
As a thank you for adopting, we offer Royal Canin discount vouchers redeemable at participating pet stores and online. There's no further obligation to purchase.
How to register your pet
Registering your pet with the NSW Pet Registry is mandatory. We'll guide you through the process.
Create an account on NSW Pet Registry (https://www.petregistry.nsw.gov.au)
Link your pet's microchip details to your account.
Link your new pet's microchip number to your NSW Pet Registry account within 14 days of receiving the cat into your care.
Update your personal contact details. Update your personal contact details regularly. Ensure your contact information is current to facilitate pet recovery, in case they get lost.
If located in another state, please contact your states local council to link the microchip to your name.
